In the electronic communications sector, the PUC regulates services provided by electronic communications companies including voice telephony, transmission of data and electronic messages, leased lines, Internet access, broadcasting of radio and TV programs in the public electronic communications networks, access to networks and infrastructure, as well as interconnections. Only a registered electronic communications company has the right to provide electronic communications services. The Regulator assigns to electronic communications companies the usage rights of scarce resources – radio frequency spectrum and numbering – necessary for the provision of electronic communications services.
